Seasons of Change

I've made lots of changes this weekend in the layout of the blog. These changes have been in the pipeline for quite some time (for example, I made the header image with the Golden Gate Bridge background in 2005), but I recently got a spurt of energy after switching to Blogger Beta. Do you like it, or no? Let me know what you think!

  1. so you like blogger beta?
I am working on my template right now in ways I am sure the beta software wouldnt allow me to, so i am nervouse about changing anytime soon.

Its good to see you were happy to take the leap with great results.

  2. Hi Sam! Blogger Beta doesn't permit you to modify your html code, but you have to use their default layout program, which is unruly. They haven't incorporated a feature to allow you to directly modify html yet, and this is the greatest shortcoming. The most important feature that they have added, is that they permit you to use labels, so if someone clicks on the "British Food" category label you assigned, they'll get to see all foods tagged with the "British Food" label. I love this feature, but you can't use it unless you give up the ability to directly modify html code. I just switched the Dashboard to Blogger Beta, but am still using the old blog layout.

  8. Thank you for your assurance and for all of your compliments Elmo Monster, Chubby Panda, Kirk, Rachel, and Eat, Drink, and Be Merry! I originally wanted to change the entire layout to Blogger's lighthouse layout (as seen on my index blog), but Blogger's ancient script layout has more html "manipulability." In the lighthouse layout, I can't change the "5 Comment(s)" to read "5 Stomach Grumble(s)," so I decided to stick with the old layout just for that feature.

  11. Thank you Jinerous and Ronald Oda! Gasp, Rick James, you revealed yourself! Is that because you also switched to Blogger Beta? My Google (Gmail) account also is my name, and it is weird for me to log in to Blogger with my real name, when I used to use "passionate_eater."
